Mi Mix 2 and Mi Note 3 made official by Xiaomi
Welcome to the confusing Product portfolio of Xiaomi land!
After a few weeks of teasing, at a Press event in China, Xiaomi took the wraps off the Mi Mix 2 and a few other new products.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2
Moving from a 6.4″ 17:9 display, we get a 5.99″ 18:9 display at a 2160*1080 resolution. This means that the phone is a lot easier to handle and use wi smaller overall footprint, and an even higher screen-to-body ratio! It runs on the new MiUI 9 on top of Android Nougat, with proper 2017 flagship specs. Sadly, the battery size shrinks by a 1000mAh, down to 3400mAh, with support for QC 3.0
Specifications are a Snapdragon 835 with 6GB Ram and 64, 128 and 256 GB storage configurations. There’s also a special 8GB Ram variant with 128GB storage, which has a ceramic body. The primary camera is a 12MP Sony IMX386 sensor with 4-axis stabilization, and the front camera is at 5MP.
The standard aluminum Mi Mix 2 comes in black, while the 8GB RAM ceramic Special edition is available in black or white. The 6GB+64GB Mi Mix 2 will run you RMB 3,299 (€420), the 6GB+128GB costs RMB 3,599 (€460), the 6GB+256GB is RMB 3,999 (€510). The 8GB+128GB ceramic unibody special edition is €700.
And there’s good news! The Mi Mix 2 will be coming to India too.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2
The second launch today, was the Mi Note 2, a premium mid ranger. This makes the competition really hot in the $400 price range.
In terms of silicon, it houses the new Snapdragon 660 and a respectable 6GB Ram. The back has 2 cameras, like the Mi6. These are 12MP sensors, one being a 2X telephoto lens. The front camera is at 16MP with everyone’s favourite beauty mode. The battery is now at 3500mAh with support for QC 3.0
The Mi Note 3 is available in the following: 6GB + 64GB in Black costs RMB 2,499 (€320), 6GB + 128GB in Black is RMB 2,899 (€370) and for RMB 2,999 you get the Blue 6GB + 128GB Mi Note 3 (€380).
