Xiaomi Redmi 3S launched in India starting at Rs 6,999
Xiaomi has officially launched the entry-level Redmi 3S in India. The device was launched just one month ago in China. As expected, the device will be available in two variants with 16GB Storage/2GB RAM and 32GB Storage/3GB RAM (aka Redmi 3S Prime), priced at Rs. 6,999 and Rs. 8,999 respectively, exclusively through Flipkart and Mi.com.
The Redmi 3S packed by a full metal body with a fingerprint sensor on the back that can also be used as shutter button for camera. The device features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor under the hood. It comes in two memory configurations: 2GB/16GB and 3GB/32GB. The graphics are handled by an Adreno 505 GPU. The device comes with pre-installed Android Marshmallow 6.0.
In terms of camera, the phone features a 13MP rear unit and a 5MP front shooter, powered by a large 4,100mAh non-removable battery. For storage expansion, both the variants include a MicroSD card slot. It supports dual SIM dual standby with the hybrid SIM slot where the user can opt for a MicroSD card instead of the secondary SIM.
The Redmi 3S Prime comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back, while it is missing in the regular Redmi 3S (2GB variant). It measures 139.3 x 69.6 x 8.5 mm and weighs 144 grams.
The device will be available only in two color variants (Gold and Silver) in India. Both models will be initially available exclusively on Mi.com and Flipkart, starting with Redmi 3S Prime on 9 August, followed by Redmi 3S a week or two later.
