ASUS ZenFone 6 leak reveals a gradient back & a triple-camera setup

The ASUS ZenFone 5Z was one of the most under-rated budget flagships of 2018. With top-of-the-line specs and an eye-popping price tag, it really offered some incredible value. But nonetheless, it seems we’re getting closer to the launch of its successor. Yes, the ASUS ZenFone 6 has been leaked.

The ZenFone 6 was first seen in an exclusive leak by C4ETech which revealed a number of unique designs of the notch and the back. But now we’ve got two additional images that give us a better look at the phone and its packaging.

Both the photos show us a glimpse at the back panel of the phone. While one has a beautiful gradient design that melts reds into blues, the other one seems to be a straight-up black panel. Nonetheless, both colours look beautiful with the glass-looking back and curved edges. The back also reveals a triple-camera setup in which a dual-camera is aided with a third one just below it. The LED Flash lines up just below.

Surprisingly, the fingerprint sensor is nowhere to be seen at the back. This can mean two things. It’s either embedded in the power button as we’ve seen in the Samsung Galaxy A7 and the Sony’s Xperia lineup or just in the screen like we’ve seen in phones from Vivo and OPPO. ASUS might even surprise us with having a sophisticated face-scanning mechanism at the front. But unfortunately, the leaked photos don’t reveal anything about the front of the phone. But if previous leaks are to be believed, the ZenFone will have a completely new notch design up-front.

In terms of specifications, there’s absolutely no information available. But just like the ASUS ZenFone 5Z we can expect top-of-the-line specs at a steal-away price. Since the 5Z launched in February last year, we can expect more details and the official announcement from ASUS pretty soon. It will most likely make an appearance at the MWC in Barcelona.
