Google completes HTC deal, promises more innovative products in future
No one understands Android better than the creator itself. And unsurprisingly, Google delivers the best Android experience on the Pixel devices. But the story on the hardware side is the complete opposite. The company’s Nexus program with OEM partnership always came with compromises and even the ‘Made by Google’ Pixel devises were eventually made by HTC and LG and that too faced numerous hardware issues.
Now Google wants to change that perception and aims to become a front-runner in hardware department too. The company announced to acquire HTC’s design talent in a deal of $1.1 Billion. And today, the search giant has officially completed the acquisition.
Around 2000 employees from HTC will now work for Google in Taipei. In a blog post, Google’s design head Rick Osterloh promises to deliver more innovative hardware designs in the future products. Getting excited Pixel fans?
