Here’s how to get Digital Wellbeing on Redmi Note 7 Pro without rooting

This will help you limit your phone usage and get to more important things in life

If you’re here, chances are that you really can’t stop using your phone and want to take measures to control your usage. Google realised the same and released Digital Wellbeing with Android Pie. Digital Wellbeing is a measure to help users achieve the right balance with technology. But unfortunately, Digital Wellbeing is only available for Pixel and Android One devices. The Samsung Galaxy S10 was the first non-Pixel or non-Android One phone to get Digital Wellbeing out of the box.

So what about your newly purchased Redmi Note 7 Pro? Well, you need not to worry! We have a solution to this problem that doesn’t even require rooting your device. Follow the below steps to get Digital Wellbeing on your Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Follow these steps to get Digital Wellbeing on Redmi Note 7 Pro:

1) You need to download and install the Redmi Note 7 application from this page.

2) Once the application is installed, head to the Google Play Store to install Shortcut Creator.

3) Open the application, click on the hamburger menu at the top-left of the screen. From this menu, click on ‘Applications‘. Now search for Digital Wellbeing in the search bar and tap on it.

4) Now after you’ve tapped on Digital Wellbeing, you’ll have to select ‘.settings.TopLevelSettingsActivity‘ from the ‘App Activity’ menu and click on the Play button on the top-right.

5) This will lead you to the home screen of the Digital Wellbeing application.

6) Now tap on ‘Dashboard‘ and click on ‘Change in Settings‘ and give usage access to Digital Wellbeing.

7) Once this is done, you can head back to the Home Screen of the Digital Wellbeing application and click on ‘Show icon in the app list‘ to make the application icon available on your phone’s home screen or app drawer.

Since this technique doesn’t involve rooting the phone, you will miss out on some features of the Digital Wellbeing application that require privilege settings. These privilege settings can only be granted if your phone is rooted. Wind Down and App Timers are two features that won’t work. But nevertheless, you can still track metrics to know how much time you’re spending on your phone.
