Here’s why the Pixel 3a will be a formidable budget flagship

Another reason for OnePlus to worry after the S10e

It seems like we’re closer than ever to the launch of the much-awaited budget variant of Google’s flagship Pixel 3. After numerous leaks, the Pixel 3a and the 3a XL has been spotted both on Google’s Play Console and its online store. And for all the right reasons, the Pixel 3a is shaping up to be a pretty popular device already.

But with the availability of so many excellent budget flagships like the Honor View 20 and the OnePlus 6T, will the launch of the Pixel 3a get traction? Well, we think it will! Here are 3 reasons why the Pixel 3a might prove to be an excellent decision for Google!

1) The Cameras

Hands-down, the Pixel 3 is one of the best camera phones out there. Announced back in October, the Pixel 3 still easily trumps most devices that launched after it did, and that too only with their software. The Pixel 3 is Google’s way of flexing and showing how superior its image processing really is.

Now, imagine Google getting this same camera experience at a lower price point! With an increase in mobile photography and them replacing point-and-shoot cameras, the Pixel 3a will prove to be a popular choice for consumers.

2) The Software

While Android phones are notorious for sporadic and irregular software updates, the Pixel lineup has never faced any problems. From instant software updates to Pixel-exclusive features, Google’s Android is the best you can get in the anti-iOS world.

In the current market, apart from OnePlus, I can’t vouch for any other OEM to give regular sofwtware updates. And with the launch of the Pixel 3a, this can be a huge deal for people looking forward to having a secure and consistent Android experience.

3) The Price

Yes, probably the most exciting reason why the Pixel 3a might prove to be a hit is its price. If reports are to be believed, the Pixel 3a should retail for around € 450. To give you perspective on the price of the Pixel 3a, the OnePlus 6T is available at a price of € 559 and the Honor View 20 is available at € 549.

Now ofcourse, the Pixel 3a and the 3a XL don’t boast of the most powerful chips, but they should be alright for most users. The Pixel 3a is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 670 while the 3a XL will be powered by the Snapdragon 710. Inspite of not being top-of-the-line SoCs, they’re more than capable of multi-tasking, gaming and all daily tasks you’d expect a phone of this price to do.

If launched at the expected price of € 450, the Pixel 3a will be a really attractive device for its camera capabilities and software. And since the OnePlus 7 will most expectedly cost more than 559 (price of the OnePlus 6T), the Pixel 3a and the 3a XL will attract more eyeballs.
