Honor 8 Pro to be launched by end of July in India; will compete with OnePlus 5
Huawei‘s sub-brand Honor, recently announced that it is all set to launch the next Honor series smartphone which will be called the Honor 8 Pro. The phone will launch later this month.
Interestingly, Huawei has tied up with action-camera manufacturer GoPro for the Honor 8 Pro. This association will make GoPros’s Quik mobile video-editing application a pre-installed application on the phone.
The phone was launched in China last month and boasts pretty solid internals. The phone will sport a 5.7” QuadHD display and come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Internal storage can be expanded upto 256GB via a MicroSD slot.
The phone will directly compete with the likes of the soon-to-be-announced OnePlus 5.
The phone will be powered by Huawei’s in-house Kirin 960 which is an octa-core processor. It also has a hearty 4,000 mAh battery and will be running Huawei’s EMUI based on Android Nougat. Honor also promises Android O for the phone in the future.
The Honor 8 Pro will have dual 12MP cameras on the back and an 8MP camera on the front.
Initially, the phone will exclusively be available online but will make it to offline stores pretty soon. Huawei has plans to open more than 100 stores in the next 2 years to increase its brand presence.
The phone is expected to be priced around Rs 32,000 and is Honor’s answer to the upcoming OnePlus 5.
