Honor 9 Lite with Dual Front and Rear Cameras Launched in India
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has been busy in the last couple of months and has announced several new smartphones in the market for consumers. The latest edition to their budget lineup in India, is this, the Honor 9 Lite.
Honor 9 Lite is the second handset from the company to come with four cameras. It was launched in China in December 2017 and will now be sold in India. Honor had recently launched the Honor 7X in India and this month the flagship smartphone Honor View 10 also went on sale.
The design is very different and is extremely flashy when compared to metal phones in this range. The back consists of twelve layers of glass making the back looks almost like a mirror. The front is also embellished with stars and galxaxy which minutely glow in the dark.
In terms of camera, there Honor 9 Lite features dual camera setups on both the front and back of the handset. The smartphone comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera on both the sides (f2.0 aperture).
Honor says they’ve added some new camera features like improved beautification and face recognition based on gender. The front camera can also take moving pictures which is the same as iPhone’s live images. The front camera has improved HDR Mode and better colour reocognition which means colours won’t fade out in cooler or warmer regions.
Additionally, the rear camera features PDAF autofocus and LED flash. The Honor 9 Lite will come in 32GB and 64GB inbuilt storage variants. It is expandable via microSD card (up to 256GB) in a hybrid dual-SIM configuration.
The dual-SIM Honor 9 Lite runs EMUI 8.0, based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The smartphone sports a 5.65-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 428ppi. The Honor 9 Lite comes with a Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core SoC, where four cores are clocked at 2.36GHz, and the other four cores are clocked at 1.7GHz. The Honor 9 Lite was launched in 3GB and 4GB of RAM variants.
The Honor 9 Lite is powered by a 3000mAh battery and the company claims to provide a talk time of up to 20 hours on 3G and a standby time of up to 24 days in the handset. The smartphone charges fully in about 2 hours 20 minutes, Honor says.
The 3GB / 32GB variant costs ₹10,999 while the 4GB / 64GB variant costs ₹14,999 and will be excluisvely available from Flipkart.com. The price is lower than that it sells for in China and other coming markets.
Currently the device is available in Sapphire Blue, Glacial Grey and Midnight Black.
