Android Nougat is now rolling for LG G5

LG has begun rolling out its latest Android 7.0 Nougat update for the G5.  LG’s recent V20 was also the first phone to launch with Nougat on board, ahead of Google’s own Pixel devices in most countries.

There’s a catch though, only Korean users are getting the update today. LG says customers in the Americas, Asia, and elsewhere will get in the coming weeks.

The fact that LG has brought Nougat to the G5 so quickly shows it’s keen to bring the device up to speed. It also suggests that it has able to optimize Nougat for the G5 without running into any significant issues.

In the past few years, Motorola and HTC have been the fastest in rolling out the latest Android updates to their flagship, this time the story seems to be different. There hasn’t been any word as to when HTC 10 will be getting Nougat, while HTC is already gearing up for the Bolt.
