Moto Z and Moto G4 Plus to taste Android Nougat in Q4 2016

Motorola in past has been praised for its superfast big Android update, sometimes even before Nexus phones. But, that was before Lenovo buyout. What about now? Well it seems, Motorola plans to continue its legacy to treat its flagships and mid-range offerings with latest Android before other OEMs.

According to Droid Life, Motorola plans to update Moto Z, Z Force, Z Play, G4 and G4 Plus sometime in Q4 2016. The company didn’t give any particular timeframe but we should expect to see Nougat riding on latest Moto devices before year end. Unlocked models should get the update first followed with carrier branded devices.

Last year’s Moto X and Moto G family will only get Android 7.0 in next year. Moto wants to ensure speed and reliability first before rushing out the doors with Nougat 7.0.

Considering how big an update Android Nougat is, it’s only about time for other OEMs to follow the suite (Hey, Samsung). So far, only HTC and LG have announced similar plans for their flagships.
