OnePlus X2 confirmed to not exist

You gotta love Carl

Earlier this week, we had several media houses report the possibility of a successor to the OnePlus X, called the OnePlus X2. This would be a return to that lineup after a hiatus of almost 3 years.

That apparent device was supposed to have a 5.5″ 18:9 display, same beautiful glass sandwich with a Snapdragon 835 with 4GB Ram. The cameras were also going to get an upgrade, possibly even more so on the front. This would have revived the forgotten lineup and would serve as a nice mid-ranger.

However, Carl from OnePlus was quick to respond to a similar listing by GSMArena and denied the existence of the X2 on Twitter. He further went on to talk about why fake news are so difficult to get rid off. This move makes a lot of sense as OnePlus is one of the few companies who are focussing on just one product line and trying to perfect it. And considering all the friction they got because of the original OnePlus X and it using a last gen processor, it makes perfect sense that we are not ready for a OnePlus X2.
