Pokemon Go finally comes to India with Jio!
Is Niantic late to the party? Has the tide ebbed? Is this too little too late? Your dreams of becoming a Pokemon Trainer over?
Well, maybe. Today Niantic (the developer of the AR game) announced in a post that India along with a few other South Asian countries will now be officially supported by Pokemon Go. This comes almost 6 months after the original release. Most Android users had been playing the game by sideloading it already. So what changes now? More PokeStops, more Pokemon, and region specific Pokemon (should be Farfetch’d)
“With over 500 million downloads globally, we are excited to launch Pokémon Go officially in India on the Reliance Jio network. Our partnership with Niantic not only brings access to the Pokémon Go app but also opens the door to more opportunities for our customers to enjoy content on Jio’s one-of-a-kind mobile broadband network,” said Reliance Jio president Mathew Oommen.
This news came right after Niantic announced the few new Pokemon in the game and partnerships with Starbucks and Sprint mobile in USA. They have been trying hard to get its initial user base back, which created a few records. Are you ready to catch ’em all?
