iPhone 7 to feature 2.4Ghz A10 Chip and Waterproofing: KGI
Apple will be officially launching iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in San Francisco on September 7th. Till date, we have seen several leaks including the videos which revealed most of the new features that will be officially announced on the launch day.
According to KGI the iPhone 7 will include the new Apple A10 SoC, which will be CPU clocked at up to 2.4GHz, a dramatic increase over the existing A9 silicon. The iPhone 7 will also come in two new color options which KGI describes as “dark black” and glossy “piano black”, replacing space grey. There are also changes to the speaker system, Force Touch sensors, waterproofing and more.
In terms of the internal performance, the report claims the iPhone 7 will be powered by a new Apple A10 chip manufactured by TSMC using a new ‘InFO’ process. Apparently, this chip will be a major upgrade over the Apple A9 chip seen in the iPhone 6s with maximum clock speed hitting 2.4 GHz.
The company might also replace the dual tone LED flash with four LED’s for even more true tone flash for the low light captures. Apple will also bid adieu to the 3.5mm audio port and space will be replaced with a grill that looks similar to the speaker grill on the other side of the lightning port. Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be certified by IPX7 which means both the devices are water and dust resistant and stay underwater upto 1 meter depth for 30 minutes.
