Exclusive: Vivo V11 Pro and Vivo V11 Android Pie update confirmed

Better late than never

With the launch of the Vivo V15 Pro, a lot of existing Vivo users were expecting announcements on the Android Pie update schedule for Vivo’s existing portfolio of devices like the Vivo V11 and the Vivo V11 Pro. But, it didn’t happen. But we’re happy to say the Vivo has confirmed the expected date of their Android Pie update to EOTO Tech.

The Vivo V11 and the Vivo V11 Pro will get the Funtouch OS 9 Android Pie update in the second week of March ’19. While the updates for these two devices are confirmed we’re not too sure if any of the other Vivo devices in the V series are getting updated to Android Pie.

Vivo initially said that updates to Android Pie could be expected in Q4 of 2018. And true to their words, it did launch a closed beta program for four of their following devices; Vivo Nex S, Vivo Nex A, Vivo X21 and the Vivo X21 UD. But unfortunately, there was no official information on updates to the V series of phones. But a leak in January gave V series owners something to hang on. The Vivo V11 was spotted on Geekbench running Android Pie. The recently announced Vivo V15 Pro already comes with Android Pie with Funtouch OS 9 built on top.

VIVO V15 PRO IS REINVENTING WHAT MID-RANGER PHONES CAN BE AND LOOK LIKE

While technology is upgrading quickly in the world of smartphones, it’s sad to know that software updates are still moving at the pace of a snail. While some OEMs are committed to launching updates as quickly as possible, some take just too much time to push it to their users. This necessarily doesn’t mean that OEMs don’t care about updates because OEMs who have heavy skins take that much time to get the update right.

VIVO V11 PRO GETS SOFTWARE UPDATE WITH MARCH SECURITY PATCH

Google’s Project Treble is a step in the right direction and we’re hoping more and more smartphones get support for it.

This is fake news. I have asked in Vivo official Facebook Group they do not said any kind of fixed date. Stop spreading fake dates.

I got an update to my v11 pro. version of patch PD1814F_EX_A_1.8.22 it was about 520MB or more. After this update the earpiece volume was affected need to increase the volume to higher level than before. Please rectify the issue at the earliest via new update.

That’s definitely unusual. You can approach a Vivo service centre for the same!

Its fucking april now, And all I fuckin asked for is a software update to Pie in my Vivo v11 pro. The company is focussing on products only and not 8n the after sale support or OTA update service. This is probably my last phone from vivo.
